Dr. Walter J. Turner
Hi. I’m Dr. Walter Turner. I am excited to welcome you to my practice.
I knew at an early age that I wanted to be a dentist. I attended Creighton University for both my undergraduate and dental school degree. During dental school I realized that pediatrics was my passion; the area I wanted to pursue. I completed a pediatric specialty residency at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in Ohio. Returning to my home state of Wisconsin, my wife and I settled in Eau Claire in 1990; raised three kids and have made the Chippewa Valley our home.
The best part of my job is the relationships that I (and my staff) develop with our patients and their parents. Since the beginning of my practice I have taken the time to personally interact and get to know my patients interests and what’s happening in their lives. By taking the time to listen to their dental concerns and their life adventures, I am able to build trust and instill that a dental visit can be FUN. Seeing kids come into the office looking forward to their visit and wanting to share a new story with me is what makes my “job” the best.
I continue to enjoy working in the ever changing dental field. Continuing education is an important part of my job and I regularly participate in learning opportunities whether it’s for infection control, federal guidelines or new restorative/preventative materials. I remain up to date and involved in local and state dental issues. I am an active member of the following dental organizations:
American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry
Wisconsin Society of Pediatric Dentistry
American Dental Association
Wisconsin Dental Association
Northwest District Dental Society
Eau Claire Dental Society
